MOTOR BOATING.

HUTT VALLEY CLUB. A social evening was held at the Walone Lodge on Saturday evening, a very pleasant time being spent. Songs and community singing led by Mr E. Prestige were quite a feature of the evening. . Songs were sung by the following: Messrs Mcintosh, Row, Aldred and Hannan (senior), and all had to respcyid to encores. Musical items were giyen by Messrs Hannan (junior), guitar, and Fisher, mouth organ, and their contributions met with a full Bhare of appreciation. The club is very fortunate in having as a member Mr F. Schneider, who is the possessor of a moving picture outfit (camera and projector). It is very interesting for club members to see their launches in the movies, and the views of the harbour are quite the equal of any we have seen. A bountiful supper, with a real sea flavour, was served, mussels and paua fritters proving a popular item on the menu. Visiting yachtsmen were loud in their praise at the way in which the social was run, which is very gratifying to the social side of the club. The following cups were presented: Pennsylvania Cup (Mr G. Burnette), Piatt Cup (Mr A. Aldred), Neill Cup (Mr A. Mantell), and Kruse Cup (Mr A. Buckland), all of whom suitably responded. Sunday being a fine day, the fol* lowing launches were out for a rfcn: Sparrow, Tui, Ethel, Happy Days, Toroa, Buccapeer, Aloha and Nomad.
