The \v rckly meeting of tlic Hutt Valley Es' pcr.into Club was held in the club rr joms, Lower Hutt, on Tuesday, Augus<; 3, Mr. W. E. (Jurrie presided over ;■ i full attendance o.f members. CoTrc'F /pou deuce was received from Franc and Holland, while correspondence 'was sent to Greco, Indo-Ohina and Sweden. I'inference was made to the death of tlio/ -mother of Mr. W. H. lyng, secreto xj of ttie New Zealand Esperanto Association, members standing in silence 11s a mark of respect. Twenty o.f the Wellington Esperanto Club paid a visit during the evening and a pleasant and educational evening-was spent. Miss D. Philips, a Hutt E spcraaitist of only :i few weeks' ' tuition, delivered <*in address of welcome "wholly 5n Esperanto, in the course of ! which : she the president of the Club, Mr. Bertram Potts, on his elevation to the rank of Justice of the Peace. Mr. Potts replied in a vc ixy humorous speech. The- following comprised a very excellent .programme: Guitar duet, Messrs Thomasr- and Thorns; Paralado, Mr. Vern J,'„ > Leek; "Mi Memoras," Miss Mercia /Pv-goais; sketch, "Oui senpacienc<? ;itenc,'as," Miss Bennett, Messrs. V. J. • Leek, J. Allan and P. -McCrea. An 1 Ssperanto 1 community sing under the 1 eadership .of Mr. Thomas concluded the programme.
