At last week's meeting of the Huti River Board it was decided to adopt the live day week for the office stall'. Dating from. Saturday next, October 24, the River Board office will net optfn on Saturdays, but dating from last Monday, 19th inst., the office hours have ibeen increased by half an hour daily, opening at 8.30 auu. instead of 9 o'clock.
The customary Retiring Collection (Sunday after Trafalgar Bay) en behalf of the iMission to Seamen will be made at each o,f the services at St. James's Parish Church next Sunday. It is hoped that the good work being done for the sailors and seamen by the Church will 'be generously supported.
In order to facilitate the (payment of pensions and avoid congestion at the Post Office counter, 'the Postmaster lias now arranged for all pensions payable on the 23rd of: the mouth ti,' be made in the room which is entered from Laings Road. It is hoped that pensioners will take advantage of the facilities provided and endeavour to attend/ at the office on 23rd instant.
Patrons are reminded that the usual weekly dance under the auspices of the Lower Hutt branch of the Labour Party v.will be heidi in 'the Pirch Street Hall 1 next -Saturday night when an enjoyable evening is assured.
