BRIDE WELCOMED

The members and adherents of the 'Lower Hutt Baptist Church assembled in great numbers recently to give an enthusiastic welcome to Mrs. F. H. Lloyd, whose marriage to Rev. Hayes Lloyd, minister of the (church, took place in Hamilton last month.

Games and competitions occupied the first part of the evening ,and much appreciated items were given by Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Pargetter, Mrs. T. Logic, Miss E. Jones, and Messrs W. Sharpe and C. Smith.

On, (behalf o,f the Baptist Women'# Missionary Union, Mrs. P. C. Penny extended a hearty welcome to Mrj. Lloyd and Mrs. Smith performed' a similar servk-e on (behalf of ithe Ladies' Guild Mrs. Lloyd, Mrs. Perry and Mrs. Smith were presented with bouquets by Olvvyn Keyte.

Mr. H. A. Pargettr, oil behalf of the Church presented Rev. and Mrs.' Lloyd with two fireside chairs and a dinner wagon. Mr. Lloyd suitably responded; Pa-stcr G. R. Stirling, of tho Lower Hutt Church of Christ, also welcomed Mrs. Lloyd on behalf of his church, wishing the newly-married couples all possible happiness. During the evening Mrs. Lloyd cut a tier of the wedding cake, and a piece of which was handed to each guest.
