ALICE TOWN WOMEN'S CLUB.
' Mrs. A. Cox presided over, and welcomed a record attendance of members at the recent meeting of the Alicetown Woinn's Club. Pour new members were nominated. , , After the usual business had been disposed l of, a bright musical programme was presented, which commenced with a pianoforte duct by the Misses Ngara McKay and Shirley Kay. Little Beverley Mouat delighted all with her quaint rendering of action songs and was warmly applauded. Mrs Milwaid gave much pleasure with two charming solos, her accompanist being Mrs Burgess. Items toy the Singing Circle were well 'received, also elocutionary items by Miss Claudia Simon. A competition, making a hat from a sheet of newspaper and four pins, caused much amusement. Mrs Milward judged the inannaquin parade and awarded Mrs. Jowett's "icreation" first prize. A demonstration of making tinfoil pictures was given by Mrs Hoare and was followed with much interest. The guessing competitions were won by Mrs. A. Mouat and Mrs Palmer. The meeting closed with the singing of the National Anthem.
