ALICETOWN WOMEN'S CLUB
CHILDREN'S PARTY. The ilnal meeting of the year ctf the Alicetown Women's Club was well attended and took the form of a sociV afternoon. The president, Mrs Cox, extended a hearty welcome to all present, 'also to Mrs. W. Nash, patrwiess of the club, who was the recipient of a dainty posy. After sonic discussion it was decide 1 to hold the annual picnic at Day's B.i/ and it was left, to the committee finalise arrangements. The Glee Singers created a fesiivt atmosphere with their singing of Chnit mas carols, which were much enjoys 3. Mrs Olseu gave much pleasure with 1: ji rendering of tw 0 solos. An amuoiiifc sketch "Aunt Fanny's Will" was very weii acted by members of the Dramatic ■ Circle, those taking part being Mesdames McDougall, Shand, Morose, Kay, Henry, McNichol, Bathurst and Vinseu. The winners of the competi'ions were Mrs Walker and Miss Dick. A dainty afternoen tea was served by the ho? teases and the singing of the National Anthem brought a pleasant gathering *o a close. Christmas Party. Nearly 100 children had a thoro enjoyable time at the Christmas party held recently. The hall was gaily 1 - corated with streamers in the clu'o's colours and the tables with vases of beautiful flowers presented a pleasing picture. After tea had been d..-^ items were rendered by the children -nd games were indulged in until the arrival cf Father Christmas, which ,vas the cause of great excitement - urid much chatter. Each child, was then are seated with a gift and a bag of sweets. The singing of the National Anthem brought a very happy party to a clojj.
