WEDDINGS.

McLAUCHLAN—WALLACE A'wedding of Interest to many Lower ' Hutt residents took place recently in Blenheim wheiv Ailsa AdeJe, , 'elder daughter of "Mr and Mrs A. N Wallace, was united in matrimony with Lyell John, elder son of Mr. and Mrs ' John McLauchlan Mr. A. N7 Wallace was formerly postmaster at Lower Hutt where he and his family were held in high esteem. A very large gathering assembled at the Church of the Nativity, Blenheim for the ceremony, which was Conducted by the Ven 0. J. Kimberley. The bride, who watf escorted hy lor father, made a charming picture m her lovely gown of ivory ring velvet and silver lame, its distinction showing in the skirt,: with its 'long train, bnd charm being added to the simpllci'.y f > the gown by a draped cowl neck ui.d long light sleeves pointed to the hand. The veil belonging to the bride's lather, fell in billowy folds from a tiara of orgango blossoms, and a beautiful arm shower c«f spring flowers was carried. In attendance as bridesmaids 'were Miss Joan Wallace, sister of +ho bride, and Miss Nell McLauchlan, sister of the bridegroom; while acting as flower girl was little Miss Kay Pattie. The two bridesmaids wore charming frocks of maize-coloured lace with velvet sashes of same shade and circlets of gold leaves in their hair, and carried trailing bouquets of yellow spring flowers and blue hyacinths* The little flower girl was picturesque in an early .Victorian frock of maize taffeta, with circlet of gold leaves in her haiT, and carried a pretty basket of flowers. The bridegroom's presents to bridesmaids wore crystal necklaces. Tho bridegroom was attended by Mr lan McLauchlan as best man, and Mr Colin Wallace as groomsman. Mrs. Wallace wore a becoming blue and white ensemble and smart Bankok hat to tone, and carried a posy of blue and red anemones. Mrs McLauchlan I wore a Burgundy ensemble, with a Breton sailor hat of the same shade. The bride travelled in a swagger costume of dusty pink linen tweed, with a pink Bankok hat.

A reception was held in the Masonic Hall, and was followed toy a dance for the young people, at the commencement of which the happy couple were welcomed to the dance hall by a bagpipes selection .played "by Mr Don Thomson. After the first dancc Mr and Mrs McLauchlan left amidst showers of confetti, good wishes and vociferous CIICCTS.
