FIFTH GRADE FINAL, HUTT JUST BEATEN Hutt lost the final game by o to nil, There was again very little between the teams, the weight of the l'etone forwards being the deciding factor, The result might quite easily have been the other way. Only a shade of luck was required on two or three occasions for Hutt to have registered points. 'Hutt were again unfortunate that two of their regular forwards, Turner ami Boykett, were unable to take the Held. Porno, froni the 7th grade filled one of the vacancies and played very well. The quick breaking l'etone forwards compelled the Hutt insides to kick u lot, thus chain passing was not indulged in to any extent, Adams, the first live-eight placed his kicks very nicely and it only needed a shade of luck more than once for tries to have resulted. Mutt's best back was Clarke, the full back, who played very soundly indeed. He was brought up to sccond five-eight in the second' spell, making some thrustful runs. H. Whit; cher behind the scrum received better 'service from his forwards than in the 'previous games and shot the ball out smartly. Adams and Martin also played well. In the forwards Posselt was again very prominent, leading most of 'the attacking movements and opening up play at every opportunity, This lad should go a long way as he has real football ability. The other forwards battled hard against their heavier opponents. It is to be hoped that all these lade will get together early next year, driven two or three heavy forwards the material is I lie re to make a splendid Fourth Grade.team. In Clarke, Hamilton, Yurtha, Adams Whitcher (-), Martin and Bond they are some really good backs. The forwards if they can put on weight, should also do well, NOTES. All players who took pari in .j'li. Gtli and 7th grade representative pre tises can obtain their refunds of travelling expenses from the treasurer, Mr. H. Hkilton. Members of the Oth and 71 li grade teams were entertained by the club h? Saturday last. The lads enjoyed themselves thoroughly doing ample justice to the good fare provided. Members of the Fourth and I'il'ili grade teams will be entertained in the near future. A wind-up dance at which trophies will be jftefefiilted is being held on Saturday week, October 5.
