WOBURN DEFEATS KHANDALLAII The Woburn Badminton Club played a return match with Khandallah Club Woburu winning by 11 games to 5., in spite of the absence of two of its usual players. Detailed results are as 'follows: Ladies' Singles: Miss lladen h*sl to Miss Uibbcms 7-3; Miss Chesney beat Mrs Dalglish, 13-3; Miss Olphert beat Miss Stewart 13-3; Miss Barton beat Mrs. Stuart, 15-S. Men's .Singles: Bews beat Rodifort 23-21; McDonald lost to i'yne, 20-23; 'Foster beat Stuart, 21-13; Jones beat Uault, 21-17. Ladies' Doubles; Misses llad>en and Chesney beat Miss Gibbons and Mrs. Dullish 13-!'; .Misses Olphert and Barton beat Misses Stewart and Stuart 15-5. Men's Doubles: Bews and lVler lost to I'yne and Rochl'urt 17-21; McDonald and Jones beat Stuart and Gault 21-N. Mixed Doubles: Bews and Miss lladen lost to Rochfort and Miss Gibbons 3-13; McDonald and Miss Chesney beat Stuart and Mrs. Dalglish, 15-8; Foster 'and Miss Olphert lost to Pvne and .Miss Stewart, 13-15; Jones audi Miss Barton beat Gault and Mrs, Stuart 13-3, Three members of the Club, Messrs T. R. Foster, M. Orr and D. J. S. Mogiuie, travelled to New Plymouth lo participate in the North Island Tournament. From all reports they seem to have had a good time, voting New Plymouth hospitality to be of the best. On Friday a cheery gathering witnessed the wiiuliyg up of a must successful season for the club. A member of the Woburn Club, Mr DOug. Moginie, met with success at the New Plymouth Tournament, winning the North Island B grade singles. Congratulations to Mr, Moginie.
