WEDDINGS.

PHILLIPS—SAUNDERS. A wedding of mufch interest which was solemnised at the Methodist Church, Lower Hutt, recently, was that of Enid Blanch Vivian, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Saunders, ot Lower Hutt, and Leslie Vaughan, only son of Mr. and Mrs. B. R. Phillips, ot Belmont. The church was beautifully decorated with Christmas lilies, pink roses and blue hydrangeas by friends of tho bride. The ceremony was performed by Rev. H. A. Sharp and Mr. F. P. Thomas presided at tiie organ. | Tho bride, who was escorted by her I father, wore a lovely gown of ivory I pearl satin, made with a high cowl neckline, fitting bodice, and long j sleeves pointed over the hands and finI ished with tiny satin buttons. The skirt flared from the knees and fell into a graceful train which was embroidered with a true lover's knot in seed pearls. Her long veil of embroidered silk net, worn over the fa&e as she entered 1 the church, was arranged with a halo band of pearls and clusters of orange-blossom, and her shoes were of ivory brocaded satin. She carried a beautiful shower bouquet of white and palest of pink roses; carnations and sweet peas with long trails of maidenhair and asparagus fern. Tho bridesmaids were Miss Ethel Thomas (chief) and Miss Mary Waters, of Auckland (cousin of the bride). They were frocked alike in wild-rosi flowered chiffonelle, the skirts being made with shaped godets of frills, aim three frills falling from the shoulders and forming the sleeves. Their wide sashes were of rose-pink satin, tied in a bustle bow and with long ends falling almost to the hemline ot' the frocks. They wore rose-pink pat in shoes and gloves to tone and their picture hats 'were of line crinoline at raw trimmed with rose velvet ribbon and pink and blue flowers. Both maids carried showed bouquets in shades of blue and wild rose. Mr. A. R. Grim wood was best man and Mr. Eric Saunders groomsman, the ushers being Messrs JJ. A. Ballantyne and N. T. Criilespie. During the signing of the register Mrs. H. A. Sharp sang "The Prayer Perfect." The reception was held in the Tua Rua Hall, where the decorations were of pink roses, sweet peas and maiden hair. Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Saunders received the guests, the latter wearing tobaco-oiown silk marocain, having a small diagonal stripe and trimmed with knife-pleated frilling, a brown fur and smart brown hat. Her bouquet was of roses in tonings of pink. Mrs. B. R. Phillips, mother of the bridegroom, was in black crepe-de-chine, relieved with palest pink, and a model hat of black straw. .She carried a bouquet of crimson roses and deep red manuka. When' Mr. and Mrs. L. V. Phillips left the bride travelled in a wine-red ensemble with touches of beige and a wide hat of beige straw. Their future home will be at Belmont. MUL IN D EII —ANDERSON.. A wedding of much interest was solemnized in the Methodist Church on Saturday, December 22, the contracting parties being Olive Cecelia, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. August Anderson of Lower Hutt, and Dr. Keith Mulinder, only son of Mrs. Lenihan, "Heatherlea," Levin, and the late Mr. E. J. Mulinder, Waipawa, Hawke's Bay. The officiating minister was the Rev. H. Sharp and Mr. A. Ballantyne presided at the organ. The bride entered the church on the arm of her father, becomingly attired in a frock of white suede satin with shoulder cape and yoke of silk lace. The embroidered tulle veil which was worn with a band made of rows of pearls had been worn by the mother of the bridegiom and the orange blossom arranged in sprays on cither side of the head had been worn by the bride's mother. iSlie carried a bouquet of white and palest pink sweet peas, cainations and watsonia arranged with maidenhair fern and was attended by her sister Miss Nesta Anderson who wore a dainty frock of pink silk net over pink satin made with many frills

and iMshed with delphinium blue velvet flowers and sash. The little bridesmaid, Miss Mary Lenihan, sister of the bridegroom, was prettily attired in a frock of cream georgette with narrow frilis round the nock and erpauletes finished with frills. A sash of r'ephinium blue velvet was also worn and each bridesmaid had a garland of blue velvet flowers encircling her hair and carried a bouquet to tone wi'th her frock. Mr. E. Ward of Dunedin acted in the capacity of best man. After i-ie ceremony a reception was held at tho home of the bride's parents where the usual toasts were honoured, Mrs Anderson receiving Lser guests in a wine coloured ensemble and hat to tone. The mother of the bridegroom wore a fio.-k of nattia blue silk moracain with black silk swagger coat and smart black hat. The bride's sister, Mrs. P. Cornish, of Khandallah, was wearing a cherry coloured frock of floral georgette and hat to tone. Each carried a bouquet to bleud with her frock. The l.rid'.' travelled in a frosk r>f light mulberry with figured trimming, under a black coat of fine cloth and a straw hat to tone with the frock. Dr. and Mrs. Mulinder leave early in the now year for England where they intend spending a few years before returning to the Dominion.
