RUGBY NOTES.

B. A. KILLEEN TRANSFERRED TO AUCKLAND. Hutt has suffered a severe loss by the transfer of Brian Killeen to the northern city. His place will (be very hard indeed to fill, in fact there is no one in sight who has the necessary ability to fill the iiv,e-eiglits or centre position as capably as Killeen. The departing player has been associated with the local cluib throughout his football career having played in grades from sixth upward over a term of 10 years. What is Hutt's loss is Auckland's gain and taking a 'broad view of the matter there is no dou'bt that Killeen's prospects of making the trip to England this year are greatly enhanced iby his transfer. Auckland are short oi inside Ibacks and have a very high opinion of the Hutt player's ability. To give players and supporters an opportunity of saying farewell and presenting him with ; j onie token of the esteem in which he is lield it has been decided to make a presentation tQ Killeen on Thursday night (this week) in the gymnasium at 8 p.m. As there has not been time to get round with the lists it has been decided to make a presentation and collect the money when .possible. Mr. H. Skilton or the secretary will be pleased to receive donations before or after Thursday or on the night of the presentation. Members of the management «ommittee are requested to attend before 7.30 p.m., i
