PAINFUL ACCIDENT.

CHILD'S EYE INJURED. A painful Mini serious injury was sustained by Kobert Campbell, years of ago, ol' 103 Jiandwick Crcscen!, Mocra, last Wednesday evening, whi'c witli other boys beating out a with sticks. The uufortunate lad was ' struck in the eye splitting the eyeball. After being attended to by Dr. WeltonHogg lie was, taken to hospital by the free ambulance and operated upon immediately by Dr. Robertson, eye spemiis, of Karori. It will not be known for a day or two yet whether the cy : ) can be saved. Eobert Campbell is the eldest son of Mr. T. G-. Campbeli, Moera, who is on relief work. Mr. and Mrs. Campbell state that it was a pure accident, and they attach no blame to the lad who was wielding the stick with which the injured boy waa struck.
