WORKSHOPS TABLE TENNIS CLUB.
WIND UP SOCIAL. A very enjoyable social evening was spent recently at the Workshop social hall when the Hutt Workshop Tabic Tennis Club held their wind up social and presentation of trophies. A large attendance was entertained to a programme of dancing and musical items rendered by Messrs J. Fordie and G. Brand. The novelty dances were Avon as follows: Lucky Spot, Miss B. Strang and Mr. H. Nut tall. Monte Carlo, Mr and Mrs. N. White. Statue Dance, Mrs Hoot and Mr. G. McGhie. The club president, Mr. D. Burton, in presenting the trophies won during the season, congratulated the club on its excellent performances in the first season. He expressed the satisfaction of the management that the inembrs of the Workshop staff had been so keen in working for the club. The following trophies were presented:— A, Grade Championship, Mr. R. Williams. B. Grade Championship, Mr. S. Askew. Best performance in interclub matches, Mr. S. Evans. Most improved player, Mr Breunan. Messrs V. E. and S. J. Smith were M.C's and Mr B. Hart provided the music.
