SOCCER BALL.
"Happy" is the adjective which most exactly describes the Lower Hu>.i Association Football Club's third dance held in the King George Hall last Saturday, the unpleasant weather conditions outside being quickly forgotten in the social and cheerful atmosphere ot' the dance. The engagement of Jim Bolton and his Band proved very popular with all patrons, the excellent music of this combination, the good condition of the floor, and partners for everyone, ill combining to make dancing a sheer delight, ( A display of clever tap dancing Lv the Misses Mauville Birkett, Cynthia Winnie and Joyce Winnie, pupils of Miss B. Stevens ,won very hearty ap plause, the demonstrators being pre sented with boxes of chocolates. Many splendid prizes were given '.n the Monte Carlo dances, Statue Dance, etc, the list of prize winners including the Misses L. Powell, D. Douthctt, M, Wickham and D. Thomas, also Mcs.u's T. Balks, i\ Tee, 11. Locke and D. MjWilliams. Bolton's Orchestra will again provide the music at the next (Soccer Dance on Saturday ID ill May, when a popular programme comprising old time and modern dances, also spotlight and several novelty dances with lots of worthwhile prizes will ensure more happiness germs for everyone.
