Brady, Herbert Hoy, Marry Marshall. The Vicar (Rev. h/e. K. tfry) nounced at St. James's Church oil Sunday that the liev. H. ,V. C. Reynolds had been accepted for service in the Melanesian Mission. Mr Reynolds came with the .Vicar to the parish just over twelve mouths ago, and has ind charge particularly of the work of the church in tho country districts. Ho will not 'be leaving for his new sphere of work in the Island until the cud of the year. i Residents are warned that some per-' sons havo been going from door to door asking for donations for "St. James's Mission" connected with St. James's Church. We are asked ;o state that there is no such fund and that it would be as well for people to satisfy themselves that the appeal is authorised before making donations to unknown persons. I The Hcv James McCaw and Mrs M-:-Caw who have been the guests of their daughter, Mrs. A. Ackroyd, have now returned to their home at Otaki. Air I MoCaw was recently a patient of l) r . Bcgg and Dr. Rennie at Bowen Street Hospital where he underwent an internal operation completely siucesst'ul. Miss D. 0. Aiistice, Nelson, has been appointed by the Wellington Hospital Board to the position of district nave at Lower Hutt. She will conuuciu-e her duties this week. Now that the cold winter weather i.s ' here the demand for warm clothing is very acute and as the local branch ol' the Red Cross Society depend upon the generosity of the residents of Low.'i' Hutt to help them in this direction, -t is hoped that anyone having anything to spare in the way of furniture, bedding, men's, women's and children ! s clothing and footwear will forward same to the Library or "Hutt Ncwj" or notilication to tlie secretary, 13 I'aroa Road, or phone 03-947 or Mr W. ['. Williams, Relief Office, and parcels will be called for. The committee .are in attendance to distribute clothing otj. every Wednesday at the Red Rooms.
