ELECTRIC POWER BOARD
A meeting of the Hutt Valley Electric Power Board was held last Thursday. There were present the chairman, Mr. A, Anderson, and Messrs A. Walker, A. J. Hobbs, S. Blackleg A. W. Press, W. H. Lawrence, L. Stewart, J Maher, E. W. Bothamley, W. Creig and J. W. McEwao, A. E. Jones and Co wrote asking for some remuneration for use of shop aa a collecting depot. Mr Stewart stated that the collections of the accounts took a, good deal ,of time and .there "was a good deal of traffic in the shop. He moved that 10/----per week be allowed. iMr McEwan seconded. . ?Mr J?ress said the time had arrived when the board's policy of collecting depots should be re-considered. He movedl as an amendment that the matter should be held over. Mr Walker seconded the amendment. Mr Hollands stated that the sum of £400 was collected in the Petone shop for the iwmth. The amendment was put and carried. The Engineer-General Manager reported that during the month a general overhaul had been carried out on L.T. lines in Nelson Street, Richmond Street, Britannia Street, Peel Street, Kirk's Avenue, Koro Koro and Maungaraki roads. (Services had also been attended to throughout the Board's area. The number of installations to date was Eastern Area 9681, Western Area 1553, total, 11,234. Twenty-five services had been added during the month. The number of ranges installed' 1497, added during the month, three. Number of water heaters 1361, six aditional last month.
