MOERA WOLF CUB PACK

SECOND BIRTHDAY.

The Moera, Wolf Qub Pack held its second birthday. at the Moera Hall on Thursday. The president of the Group (Mr. W. Nash, M.P.), extended a hearty welcome to , the parents and friends who were present, and wished the Cubs many happy returns. _ * ;

Among those present were District Commissioner R. Nelson, District Scout master MjcKenzie, A.B.M. Knight, A.CM Allison (Nuskka), A.C.M. Withington (Qnawia), Pack Leader B. Hunn Mrs Walter Nash and Miss Nelson. Apologies were received from Mrs S. Hoggard 8.C.M., and Mr A. Reid, District Secretary.

Tho evening comm>enced .with the Cubs' Grand Howl to Mr Nash, followed t>y jungle dances, an. action song, an exhibition of rope and hoop skipping and a quiet game where cuibs learn that ears are to hear with; also Cub B. Goodfeltow gave a recitation entitled "The Tenderpad."

Mr Nelson conducted an Ipise ceremony, Mr W. S. Clyman receiving his warrant as Assistant Cubmaster to the Moera Wolf Cub Pack. This was followed by another ceremony where a second service star was put on the Totem Pole beside the s first year star. Mr Hoare, chairman of the Group Committee, conducted this ceremony and also explained tae use of the To tem

Supper followed, the tables being suitably decorated' with blue and gold, the Group colours. The birthday cake, a gift to the Cubs, was conspicuous on tho centre table. Mr Nelson wished those present, many v hapjpy returns and called; upon Mrs Hpare to cut the cake. Cub Billy Jones and Cub Ken Hoare each lighting a candle.

iSongs around the camp fire, prayer, chimes and the singing of the National Anthem 'brought a most pleasant evening to a close.
