This was agreed to on the motion of the Mayor. Mr Nash was thanked for his interest in the matter. The Mayor reported th,at the Government subsidy on the £5200 Relief of Unemployment Loan, had been received Outstanding Bates and Accounts. 'FINANCE AND ESTATES. . .; committee:' V The- Finance and Estates Committee reported tli.it' as requested by Council, the Committee had gone into the matter of what .relief can be accorded to the Moera Hall Committee in the way of reducing the overdraft at the Bank. The committee recommended that the Council make a .-donation, of £20 to1, the hall committee, such sum to be applied towards the reduction of the overdraft. Carried. OUTSTANDING RATES AND . ■ . The. borough solicitor submitted a form of lease which he considers desirable to be completed by the lessees iof borough properties. The committee reported that it had reconsidered this matter and now recommended that t»he estimates be made available to the Pross with certain provisos. . , WORKS, DRAINAGE AND HEALTH COMMITTEE. Sewer Extension, Epuni School. The conrmittee reported that it had been approached by the Education Board for sanction to extend tthe ; 6in. sewer in Waiwetu Road as far as Epuni School at an estimated cost of £2,35. The matter was referred to the Borough Engineer and will be the subject of a further report later. Melling Bridge. The engineer reported that the minimum work necessary to. restore thecanibre, renew the worst timber in various places and paint iron work,-will cost approximately £120. He pointed out that this bride was reaching • the gut that this bridge,was reaching the tenanee will now be costly. The proposed repairs should make it safe for a further year if heavy traffic will abstain from using it. • GENERAL BUSINESS. Cr. Patrick again drew attention to the dangerous corner at the junction of Wainui Road and Whites Line and nskcd.that it be dealt with as a matter of urgency. A quantity of iilling was - required to prevent a serious accident. It was agreed to give t*he matteT immediate attention.

On the. motion of the Mayor it was agreed to renew 'the aTrangejnent whereby tSie mayors and the chairmen of the works committees of the respective councils, confer periodically on matters of common interest. *
