An interesting match was played at Masterton on Saturday test Vhen the Hqtt Valley primary schools representatives who are to participate in the quadrangular tournament against TaTanaVi, Rangitikei and Horowhenua at Lower Hutt on Saturday next, defeated the Wairarap.ii that is to play against Wanganui, 'Wellington and Manawatu in the inter-schools turnament at ■■• Palmerstori North next, weekend.

Hutt 'quick.lv gained the lead in fhe second spell, the ball passing from Hcwson and Edmondson, to Hobbs, who kicked, and Fii-min following up fast gained possession and after a good run passed to Hobbs, who scored-well out-r- j a fine try. .Winnie againgoalcd with »r great kick.
Shortly afterwards Winnie, who was playing splendidly at full-back, obtained possession in his own twenty-five, and after making a splpndjd run clean thrmigih 'the opposing team scored near the posts. With a 13—3 lead Hutt kept up the pressure, but were unable further to increase their score. For Wairarapa Lochore, Reiri, Coradine, Ra-wlhigs and Hancox played well.. while Edmondson, Firmiu, He.wson, Goodman. Wilson and Dodd -were outstanding. ..--..
