Princess Silvia.

The three children had been reading a story about the beautiful- Princess Silvia, so thqiy,decided tb jbiii hands and sing- the chant they had read in the book. After singing three times the fireplace fell all to pieces and lo and behold . thisre; in front of them stood Princess Silyiai • She was indeed very pretty with long black hair falling m lovely deep waves over her shoulders, pret-r tily shaper lips parted in a 1 beautiful smile as she s saw the children and beckoned them to follow -her. After walking a short way she asked them what they would like to do. Evelyn, the eldest cried, "Oh! I want to wear a lovely frock like yours and. dance with a handsome prince.",

Cecil said he would like to chase monkeys up and down trees, and Nannette- the youngest was crazy over lovely chubby babies so she asked if she could be in a nursery amongst them. Princess Silvia smiled at them and said, *' Before I grant your wishes I want you to give me your promises not to touch anything at all in the land of wishes." The children gave their wishes readily and they went up a hill and got into a hammock of spider gossomer web which soon began to swing backwards and forwards at a great pace. They were soon beyond the clouds and then with

a bump they were in the Land of Wishes. Evelyn looked down at her frock and what a change! Her old morning dress had somehow been changed into a lovely soft fluffy dress with jewels all over it, and as she looked up a handsome prince came up to her and asked her for the minuet that the invisible orchestra was playing. Just as she swayed in his arms Cecil, who had been chasing monkeys, caught hold of the nearest one's tail and Nannctte picked up a chubby ,baby from which: shft had chosen among "all the oth&rs, when chash! everything felLaway and they were in their own nursery and their mother calling them ''Gome along ptulslren, wake up,'' crieft their mather; *' its time to get dressed and washed for tea." •■'-.■• ' ' So they got up and wondered if it were only a dream."
