LOWER HUTT AMATEUR ATHLETIC CLUB.
The above Club held its second Monday evening mooting on 2(?th November at the Recreation Ground and wore jfortunat6 in running off the programme of seven events before the downpour. Results were as follows:— I^adies ' 100 Yards Handicap. —Miss Mroe (7yds) 1, Miss Wilson (lyd) 2, Miss West (12yds) 3. There were seven starters and Miss Broe won by a .yard. Men's 120 Yard Handicap.—Cunningham (scr) 1, MieDonald (9yds) 2, Elb (Byds) 3. Cunningham won easing up. Half Mile Cycle Handicap.—'Hayes 1, Hall 2, Forsyth 3. The field of four finished within a length, the winner being half a wheel to the good. Boys' Race, 100 yards.'—A big, field gave the handieapper food for thought. Angus "McNeil, a pupil from the Convent,, ran a very fine xaco off lyd, and narrowly beat Moriee Elson and Jack CoTson who were second and third respectively. One Mine Handicap.—McDonald 1, Elb 2, Ballantyne 3. Elb was on the limit maTk but did not make the best use of his handicap and was beaten for first place by two yards in a stirTing finish. Ladies Relay 4r— llo yards. Two teams contested this race comprising:— (a) Misses Wilson, Green, Dyke, West, (ib) Misses Corless, Morrison, Broe and Oarfnell. Miss Corless'steam was leading up to the final change over when Miss Wilson reduced the leeway to -win by five yards. One Mile Cycle Handicap (6" entries). This race also produced a very close finish, only a foot separating first and .second. Moorhouse 1, Hayes 2, Hall 3. The programme for next Monday, commencing at 6.30 p.m., is as follows: 120 Yards, Junior. 220 Yards, Senior. Three-quarter Mile Bun. Half Mile Cycle. 120 Yards, Ladies. 100 Yards Juvenile B Grade. 120 Yards Juvenile A Grade. Javelin Throw. On Monday 10th December, the Pc--tone .Benefit Entertainers are staging a •concert in King- George's Theatre, Lower Hutt, in. aid of the cluib's funds and the committee trust that the sports of the district will extend their patronage to make it a financial success. Boys are invited to obtain tickets for ;sale on commission from Mr. W/. Morrison, Singer Agent, Main Street, Lower IHutt.
