MOTOR ACCIDENT

Shortly after 5 o'clock on Thursday evening an aeeident occurred- on the Hutt Road near the Shamrock Brewery ■when a motor cycle ridden by Edgar Ninness, of 23 Gear Street, Petone, collided with a motor car driven by Alexander Johnston of Ouba Street, Petone. It appears that Johnston who was travelling south, when endeavouring to turn into the lane at the Brewery swerved out on to his wrong side and Ninness -who was travelling north crashed into the side of the car, receiving abrasions to his face and arms. He was attended to by Dr. Bakewell and taken to his home. The driver of the car escaped injury. The motor-cycle was badly damaged, the iwotor-car re-

ceiving minor damage to a rear mud-

guard

As it was a busy time a large crowd soon assembled and for a minute or two the road was nearly impassable.
