CORRESPONDENCE
A CORRECTION.
(To the E'ditoT). Sir, —In your issue of November Bfch, you report the meeting which was held in the Town HaU; tower Hutt, on Tuesday, TTovember 6th. Among other things you state that "¥r. Nash favoured the letting of Government contracts to private firms."' This' is not correct. I stated that I was of opinion that the Government services, properly organised, could carry out its own work-more efficiently |and at less, cost, than the private eo-n- ---| tractors. —Yours faithfully, W. NASH, Secretary N.Z.L..P. A correspondent writes us urging the necessity of a poliec night patrol in the district. He is a garage proprietor and asserts that in the early hours ocf one morning recently one of Ms firm's petrol pumps was broken into and several gallons of petrol stolen. The matter of police control in this district is being very closely watched by tike aui thorities and we understand that in the \ near future some improvement will be ! effected. In the meantime we would advise our correspondent to place the complaint befoTe the executive of the Business Men's Association.
