HAUTANA CROQUET CLUB.

The Bautana Croquet Club opened its new green, Colin Street, on Wednesday, Oct. 30th. Mrs W. S. Austin, president of the Wellington Croquet Association, with a few well chosen remarks congratulated the President (Mrs. W. Andrews) and the committee on their enthusiasm and enterprise at starting another club and, wishing them every success, declared the green open.

Afternoon tea, competitions and games WGr© held, the successful winners being Mesdames W. S. Austin (Kelburn), Savage (Waimarie), Hendry (Hiitt), Dryden (Karori), Eeenan and P. Andrews.

Among the visitors were Mrs E. McKenzie (secretary Wellington Association), Mrs T. Wilkinson (treasurer of Wellington Association), and Mrs. Dryden (Karori).

Beautiful bouquets were presented to Mrs. Austin and Mrs. W. Andrews.

Owing to the expiry o f the lease, Webb's Cash Drapery is this week holding a clearing sale of all its stocks. The business will be transferred to the premises now occupied by the National Bank. In the meantime these stocks must be cleared.
