COMING OF AGE

Tho Oddfellows' Hall, Lower Hutt, was last "Wednesday* the hccpo of a pleasant gathering, the occasion being a, birthday party held in honour of Miss T>. West, who has attained her majority. An enjoyable evening was spent in dancing, interspersed with games, the music being supplied by the California from Wellington. A large crowd of guests gathered at the supper table where the usual complimentary toasts were proposed.. Mr Judd in proposing ■the toast to1 Miss '.West, -«pok« in terms and hoped that she lived to a great age. Mr H. West suitably replied. Mr Judd (Jnr.). called upon those present to charge their glasses and drink to the health of Mr and Mrs "West. Mr West replied by thanking" all those present for the way they had received their daughter. The concluding toast was to Mr and Mrs Lusty, grandparents of the host, proposed by Mr TPenihall. P

Messrs Diamond, Lusty, Judd (2), Murray, Tier, Everett, Anstis, B. Wilson, ~K. West, Pocknell, Penhall, R. G. Rea, E.^O'Toole, R. Fliteroff, L. Russell, R. fSeoggin (2) Organ White B. Gardner, S. Cave, J. Woolland, B. Ross, R. Freeman, and many others. The function was brought to a close at an early hour in the morning.
