IN AND AROUND TAITA.
At the euchre party held in the Taita Hall on. October 16th, Mrs C. Alsop was successful in winning the ladies prize and Mr. W. Hollis secured the gent's prize. Aggregate prizes for the past eight weeks were won by Mrs P. Walters and Mr. Fenwick. On Tuesday evening last Miss Y. Hanson won the ladies prize and Mr. F. Gorrie the gent Js, at the usual weekly euchre party held under the auspices of the Taita Hall Committee. On Wednesday the Petone Benefit Entertainers staged a splendid concert in the Taita Hall in aid of the local school. The large audience was most enthusias-
t tic and every item secured a great ovation. At the "500" party held last Saturday night Mi- A. Searle was successful in winning the gent's prize. One of the most successful dances yet held at Taita was the Taita Football Club's dance held on Labour night, when the largest and most enthusiastic gathering of lovers of. the light fantastic assembled and danced to the splendid music supplied by the orchestra. A dainty supper was also provided. The committee in charge of the arrangements is to be congratulated for the excellent manner in which they performed their duties which were appreciated by all present.
