HUTT COURT
Mr J. H. Salmon presided over the monthly sitting of the Lower Hutt Magistrate's Court held yesterday. William Mark Malloy was fined £5 and -J.O/- costs for a breach of his prohibition order. Edward William Judd, for riding a bicycle along the footpath in Ludlam Crescent was convicted and fined 5/aud costs. Pat Nepia, for being £4 10s in arrears on a maintenance order was convicted and sentenced to one month's imprisonment to be released on payment of arrears. Judgment by default was given in the following undefended civil eases:— Hutt Meat Co., Ltd' v. A. A k Wallace, £2/1/1; G. BarnaTd v. J. Bramwell, snr. £15/12/9; Hutt Cabinet Co. ,Ltd. v. J. Barker, £8/16/2; Kenner's Ltd. v. J. B. A. Smith £12; Hutt Meat Co., Ltd. v. William Saussey £10/14/5, costs only 18/-; Lower Hutt Borough Council v.
S. L. Gilmer £12/19/1. On a judgment summons J. Hourigan was ordered to pay T. J. Lewis £16/15/6, at the rate of 5/- per fortnight, in default 16 days 7 imprisonment; J. O'Leary to pay T. E. and E. Sheil £39/9/- forthwith in default 39 days' imprisonment; W. Chatfield to pay J. V. Dyke £31/16/6 forthwith in de fault 31 days' imprisonment; G. Johnson to pay Hutt Meat Co., Ltd, £3/17/10 forthwith in default 4 days' imprisonment; G. Stannard to pay C. Diamond £5/9/- at the rate of 10/- per week, in default 5 days' imprisonment; L. "W. to pay Clendon Bros £3/15/9 forthwith in default 4 days' imprisonment;'J. Brady to pay J. Berry £14/13/: at the rate of 10/-. per week in default 14 days' imprisonment; D. Merrell to pay E. J. Evans £6/10/-, at the rate of 5/- per fortnight in default 6 days' imprisonment.
