BUSINESS HEN'S ASSOCIATION.
The monthly meeting of the Lower Hutt Business Men's Association was held in the River Board's Office on Wednesday last, and there was a full attendance. A letter was received from the Hutt Valley Electric Power Board advising that they were unable at the present time to consider an amendment of the lighting charges for local shopkeepers. It was decided to arrange an interview with. the Board. v The Lower Hutt Borough Council wrote asking the executive to forward suitable slogans for use in the borough, and this was accordingly arranged. It was resolved to form a financial committee to deal with matters relating to the financial matters of the Association. It was decided to ask Mr. Barrett, the honorary solicitor^ to draft a suitable letter in connection with the needs of the Valley for better facilities for Court proceedings within the borough, so that the Minister of Justice may be approached on the matter. It was decided to call a general meeting of the members of the Association for the 19th September to' discuss the ' question' of Shopping Week this year, j and the executive was unanimous in every endeavour being made to obtain a concensus of opinion from members on this i matter.
