WAIWETU LADIES' GOLF CLUB.

On Saturday a team of nine journeyed to Tawa Flat to try conclusions with the Banui Club and, despite the lamentations over many lost balls carried down by the roaring torrent, a very enjoyable afternoon was spent. We only succeeded in winning three games and squaring one, but considering the hilly nature of the links we were not discouraged. Detailed results are as follows, Waiwetu players being mentioned first:— Miss Walters won from Miss White 4 and 2. Mrs. Evison one up on Miss Davis. Miss Hansen lost to Miss Baltham 2 down. Miss Robinson won from Miss Turner 3 and 1. Mrs. Hughes lost to Miss Farley 1 down. Mrs. Whitehead lost to Mrs. Richmond 3 and 2. Mrs. Ryan and Miss Lucena, all square. Mrs. Riddler lost to Miss Drake 2 down. Miss Hogg lost to Miss Toting 2 down. Next week-end play will commence for the Pulley Cup, a handsome cup presented by Mr. Pulley and competed for annually.
