I The "Regal" confectionery business has now been removed to more extensive premises in Lane's Buildings, where the public can still be supplied with the high-class confectionery .that has made the name '-'Regal" a by-word for quality in the district. Besides continuing the business of confectioners and caterers, the "Regal" will, on Friday, open a modern Tea Rooms where dainty morning and afternoon teas, also light luncheons, will be served. The proprietors have asked us to express on their behalf their thanks to the Hutt public for the generous support that has been accorded to the firm since its inception in the district, and to assure them that it will be their earnest endeavour to supply only the best at moderate prices. A meeting of all interested in the Bible in Schools will be held in St. James's Hall, on Monday next, September 3rd, at 8 p.m. The speaker will be the Hon. L. M. Isitt, M.L.C. The recent discussions in Parliament relative to the establishment of deatal clinics, emphasises the fortunate position of Liower Hutt, and the attention of all is directed to the article elsewhere in this ifesue. Mr. Walter Nash, Labour candidate fop the Hutt Electorate, will deliver an address in the Moera Community Hall tonight (Thursday). The meeting previously arranged for, August 16, had to be postponed owing to the inclement weather.
The following pupils of the Hutt Valley High School have been successful in. passing their Senior First Aid Examination: —Esme Burrell, Gwen Slack, Dulcie Futter, J. Lopdell, Sheila Milne, J, rjittle, Aiisa Wallace, Grace Henderson, B. Harrison A. Henderson, Marjorie Marryatt, Linda Mawson, Nancy Olphert, Marion Preston-Thomas, Adele Kidman, M. Robb, and F. Hastings. The treasurer of the Lower Hutt Miiiiieipal Silver Band has asked us to draw the attention of possible contributors to j the fact that all information can be obtained, or donations sent to, Mr. J. Weir, Park Avenue. Our readers will have noted that, on tho recommendation of the "Local Bills Committe of the House, the amending Bill for the Water Board has been, for the time being, dropped. This delay is intended to give fuller time to all Vocal bodies concerned to give .careful consideration to so important and far-reaching a scheme, and is entirely in keeping vi+.h the course urged in the leading article in the "Hutt News." Mrs. Stenhbuse, wife of Mr. J. Stenhouse of Owaka, South Otago,- and Mrs. Wileox, wife of the Rev. C. J. Wileox, of Fairlie, are the guests of their brother, the Rev. J.
