In reference to the proposed Flying Club it is expected that a public meeting will be called at a date to be announced, to select a committee of practical men who will meet the members of the Hutt River Board in conference. In the meantime Mr. Rawnsley of the Ford Garage, will be pleased if those interested will communicate with him by letter.

Our readers are advised to see that their names are upon the Parliamentary Electoral Roll, which is now completed and is open for their inspection. Supplementary Rolls will be prepared later, and anyone not discovering his or her name ujpon the Main Roll, should make immediate application for enrollment on forms which can be obtained from the Registrar of Electors, Petone. In view of recent legislation as to compulsory registration this is important.
Owing to the severe storm last week the concert arranged by Mr. Claude Haydon had to be postponed. It was a great disappointment not only to Mr Haydon but to a great number of music-lovers who had been looking forward to hearing works of our local composer. The artists who all kept their appointment in spite of the storm, expressed their willingness to produce the programme at a future date and after consulting the small audience it was decided to postpone the concert until "Wednesday, September 26th at the same hour and place. Mr Haydon is determned to render the brillant programme on this occason whatever the weather may be. It is hoped that many will note this date and support our talented composer and those ; who are so generously assisting him.
Music lovers in the Hutt Valley are lookng forward with great interest to the next concert to be given by the Hiiftt "Valley Choral Society. The choral items will be well up to the high standard set by recent concerts. The Society is to be assisted by the 2YA Orchestra. A special engagement enables the society to present this orchestra to residents in the Valley. This will enable listeners-in who have enjoyed their music so much, to see the combination at work, while those without sets wiJl be able to hear them in some of their best items. Mr. Harrison Cook will also assist the Society. This performer's beautiful bass voice never fails to please his audience. There will be several concerted pieces, while in one item the orchestra accompanies the choir, the solo work being taken by
Mr. .Harrison Cook. The date fixed for the concert is Tuesday, 18th September. The Petone Maori Entertainers have kindly consented to produce one of their bright performances in King George Theatre on September 3rd in aid of the widow and family of the late Angus McMillan. This case is a very neeessatious one and it is to be hoped it will receive the support from the public that it deserves. The Band has consented to play outside the theatre on the evening of the performance.
