As many inquiries have been made of us recently in regard to what " The Single Tax "movement was we took an opportunity of interviewing Mr Edward Withy on the matter when in Rotorua recently with the following result: — What is the Single Tax proposal ? it that all existing taxes and local rates should bo gradually abolished aud that the revenua required should bo raised instead by a tax on the ground-rental value of all land—whether in town or country—exelusive of .all unexhausted improvements existing on the said lands—or upon what mav be called its "site\Jl
