PROPOSED MASS MEETING.

To the Editor. Sir,—After the meeting of the electors on Friday night, there was great discussion as to the advisability of convening a meeting of the electors and residents of this district on the Pukeroa at a date in the near future. Its objects being, to petition the Premier, to grant us the privileges enjoyed by Te Arolia, to form an elective body for the control of the Township as promised. Secondly to point out the great disadvantages we suffer at the hands of the monopolists. Thirdly to try and get some local voice in the control of the licenses in this district. And lastly to impress on the female electors, and in fact all others, to vote for either a reduction in licenses or prohibition. I sincerely hope tho gentleman who promised to prepare the petition and convene the meeting will not allow the matter to drop.--Yours, &c, Observer. Rotorua, 10th November, 1890.
