At the Criminal) Sittings of tho Supreme Court on Monday, in tlio case of Gavin Melutyre.Park charged with theft His Honor considered that had the present defalcation been discovered when the-former charge heard at last session was laid, it would have been included in that indictment. He had gone into the wliolb circumstances., and now ordered the accused, to enter into probation for nine months, the term to' be concurrent with the twelve months probation previously imposed. Erueta Panapa, a young Maori, pleaded puiltv to having broken into the Geyscv Hotel Vv'hakare ware wa and stolen a sum of Gs 6d. Mr Dufaur appeared for the accused, and prisoner, when challenged, sai'd ho was very sorry for what ho had done, and if liberated lie would not commit such an offence again. There were three previous convictions against the accused, and lie- was sentenced to twelve months imprisonment with hard labour.

Thomas Tremain pleaded' guilty to having broken into the shop of W. A. Williams R'otbrua and stolen a quantity of clothing and 1.3s in money. Ho was sentenced to be imprisoned and kept to hard labour for twelve months. His Honor complimented Constable Murray on tho manner in which he had tho accused watched when his suspicions were aroused.

Tho post office robbery case is being heard to-day.
