ANOTHER BURGLARY.
It, was reported to the police this morning that the bur of the Goysei' Hotel had been entered during the night and a .small sum of money abstracted. ' Const Murray at once proceeded to Whalcarewarowa and, after enquiry, arrested a native named Erulcingi and charged him with the offence. It appears that various small sums have lately been missed from the bar, and as natives were suspected an ingenious plan was arranged for discovering the delinquent. Some pieces of cardboard were smeared with indelible ink, and placed on the bar floor. This nioi'ning disclosed that the midnight marauder had been at work for a small sum of money in the cash drawer had been taken and marks of naked feet on the cardbeard and along the floor showed in what direction the depredator had gone after '• craelring the crib." The footmarks led Constable Murray across the bridge into the pa and ths "damned spot," on the solos of Erukingi's foot did the remainder. Ho will be brought before the bench in the morning.
