ROTORUA JOCKEY CLUB.

The' Stewards of this Club met rm Thursday night, Mr R. I). Dansey presiding-. The secretary stated that the Auckland Racing Club had decided that horses running at the recent unadvertised meeting at Galatea were eligible for tho forthcoming hack meeting. In reference to a reply received from the railway department declining to run a special train 011 February 12, the secretary stated lie had since written asking the deportment that if excursions wore arranged for tne 29th insfc, the fact of the'races here might be notified on the posters. It was resolved that the stewards' and members' fee so far as this present meeting is concerned bo reduced to 10s. If was also decided that holders of subscription lists be requested to inform the secretary of the amounts subscribed 011 tho Friday night preceding the meetii.ir. Arrangements, subject to alteration, wore made for tho sale of tho gates and publican's booth. Tho fee for refreshment stalls was fixed at 20s, and fur bookmakers £3. It was decided to engage tho Pukeroa Hall for the usual concert on the night preceding tho meeting, and Messrs Webber; Williams, Mayes, Samson. Cotter, Fordyce, Holmes, and Stewart wore invited to make arrangements. Mr Dansey reported that the oonrsoand training track had been cleared and put in readiness. Reference was made to the unwarrantable manner in which the BrasBand had acted in ignoring the permission which had been given to use the Course, and then taking without authority t-lio hurdles'belonging to the Club an 1 using thorn at thdir sports. After the discussion of some unimportant details tho m'e&ting adjourned.
