ROTORUA JOCKEY CLUB.
A meeting of the above Club, to which the general public were also invited, took place at Like House Hotel, on Friday night when there was only a moderate attendance. Mr Williams occupied the chair. Mr It. D. Dansey, treasurer, submitted ;»financial statement which showed that the past year had been commenced with a balance in hand of lis Sd, at the last meeting £lo() had been given away in prize money and the balance in bank amounted to £'24 lGs Id. Sums were due to the Club which amounted to more than the outstanding liabilities. The outstanding assets of the Club were discussed and it was at length decided to allow a rebate of .'is in the amount due by Miss Hrennan on the refreshment booth conducted by her at the last races. It was decided that Mr Taylor's services in selling the privileges be taken in lieu of subscription on receipt being handed in by liim. The discussion on the question of finance lasted for some time and at length it was resolved that all outstanding assets and liabilities should be arrange! by the incoming committee. The usual honorarium of £o wns voted to the secretary, Mr I'. Thom. Election- of Officious. The nomination and election of stewards was then proceeded with and qver fifty names were submitted. As it was uncertain whether some of the gentlemen nominated would act it was decide 1 that the stewards should be selected from those in the room, with power to »dd to their number. The following were thereupon chosen:- Messrs Dansey, Falloona, Williams, Rogers, C. A. Clarke, Thom, Mayer, Fortune, Huet, It. 15. Graham, Urquhart, Honshaw and Boland. The election of officers resulted as follows : —President. Dr Ginders; Vice-presi-dent, Mr C. Malfioy ; treasurer, Mr It. D. Dansey ; secretary, Mr T. C. Urquhart. Annual llace Meeting. It was decide 1 that the usual race meeting beheld on February 12th and the following officials were elected: — Judge, Mr It. D. Dansey ; handicapper, Mr Evott; starter, Mr C. Huet; ; clerk of course, Mr W. Dansey ; clerk of scales, Mr .T. Stanley; clerk of totalisator, Mill. Fortune. The following programme was decided on:—1. Handicap Hurdles of 30sovs, 2 miles. 2. Maiden Plate of 12sovs, 1 mile. If. Handicap Pony Hurdles of losovs, 1 ] mile. 4. Maori Women's Hack Race. To be arranged on the course if inducement offers. 5. R.J.C. Cup Handicap of oOsovs, 2 miles, (i. Maori Hack Race of 4sovs, 1 mile. 7. District Plate of 12 sovs w.f.a., for all horses the bona fide property of settlors in the county of ltotorua for three months prior to date of nomination, 1 mile. <S. Handicap Pony Race of lOsovs, six furlongs. 9. Railway Handicap Stakes of 20 *ovs, I.', mile. It was decided that the first race should start at 11.130 instead of 12 as formerly. Nominations for Handicap Hurdles, Cup and Pony Hurdles, February 1 ; Railway Stakes and Pony Flat, February S. Entrances for District Plate and Maiden Plate February 8. Weights for Handicap Hurdles, February 4 ; other handicaps on day of meeting. The meeting closed with a vote of thanks to the retiring secretary, Mr P. Thom.
