Auckland, Wednesday. —At tile Magistrate's Court yesterday the case of the Crown v. Tenetahi and others, whichhasbojn sereraltime&adjourned came on again for hearing. '1 inaction arose in connection with the right of possession of the Little Barrier Island. Mr McAlister appeared for plaintiff and Mr Earl for Teiietahi and family. Tenetahi gave evidence in connection with the disposal of the island to the Government. Judgment was given for plaintiff and the natives were ordered to leave the island by December 10.
Wellington, Wednesday.—lt is the general opinion that the Hon. Mr Beeves will go Home as Agent-Gen-' oral. It is thought now that S r P. Buckley will accept the judgeship. Blenheim, Tuesday.—Tho holiday yesterday was marred by an unfortunate trap accident which occurred on the Awateie road, and resulted in the death of John Whitling, an old resident, and caused such injuries to Richard Matthews, expressman, that his life is despaired of. A ythielo capsized at a dangerous angle on the road and the occupants were nrecinitated iu the creek, Whirling had his neck broken and Mathews received concussion of the Irain and internal ii.ji.ries. A person named Saunders, who was with the party, got out previously, preferring to walk over (he dangerous spot.
