The Mossburn correspondent of au Invercargill paper writes :~lt may be of interest to many of your readers to know that the swamp turkey has taken i;e killing the bumblebees, presumably for the sake of their honey. They have been observed here to catch the bees on the thistle flowers ana bite off the part that holds the honey, leaving the vest of the bee uneaten. The huurblo bees are now so numerous that af" the swamp turkeys kill won't make much difference, but they certainly kill a'igweat many.
