TYPHOID IN A GAOL.
Wi 11 iam M'Gregor. who appeared in the dock at tho Napier Supreme Court on Thursday morning, bore an emaciated appearance, and it was evident that he was very ill. His Honor asked what was the matter will 1 the man. Sir Severno, tho gaoler, said the doctor was under tlio impression that ho was sickening for typhoid. Ilis Honor: 110 do you account for it? Mr Severne : I don't know; we havo already had ono mild case of typhoid. We get our water from the borough supply, ancl I can't account for it. His Honor; What about your milk ; do you got it from a private vendor ? Mr Severno : Uh, they don't get milk. His Honor (apparently surprised) : They don't get milk ! Mr Sovorne : No, your Honor. The habitues seemed voiy much amused; but shortly before the pronouncement of sentence the poor fellow in th • dock fainted.
