The other night a sensational incident happened at the Brighton -, • • ~> ' m e ol mr-lo Southern England. During the performance oil a piece called "Wild Violet," the heroine rode on to the stage, rapidly dismounted and fired a pistol. This so frightened the horse that it dashed to the footlights and and leaped right over the orchestra down among the audience. Happily it lighted, or rather fell, in the gangway, otherwise it must have jumped right upon the occupants of the front seats. The fact of the animal falling just gave tbetn time to eseapo, which was a fortunate circumstance, for the next moment the horse bad kicked ' down several seats of a couple of rows of stalls. By a remarkable chance uc one was injured. After the horse had heen got out, tho performance was pro ceeded with.
