Domestic tragedy. Sydney, February 2(5. A sad domestic tragedy is reported from Goulbourne. The wife of Thomas Cross, licensee of the Robert Burns Hotel, rrranged to give a party to a number of friends but her husband forbade it. The festivities took place and the result being a quarrel between the two. Later on the wifo was singing with a young man lodger in the hotel, when Cross entered the room and objected, and after further (iuar relling Mrs Cross went out and locked herself in her own room, Cross threa' toned to break down the door if she did not come out, she then came out of the room, whereupon he drew a revolver and tired, the shot taking effect behind her car. On seeing what he had done Cross put the revolver to his own head and shot himself dead. His wife died within an bour. Cross had been drinking heavily, but it is believed that joolousy is at the bottom of the affair. Reciprocity treaty. Melbouiink, February 26. —The Argus considers the Premier's letter to the Governments of South Australia and New Zealand on the subject of reciprocity treaty might well be entailed, Victoria reproving sin.
