She wasn't on tho playground, she wasn't on the lawn, The tittle one was missing, and bedtime coming on, Wc hunted in the garden, we peeped about to see TP pl«4o*}irjfr vjp'l ros.o or lilac she might be, But rething came iu answer to our anxious call Until at length wo hastened within the darkening hall. And then upon thp stillnessthere broke a silvery tone — The darling mite was standing before tin telephone, And softly, as we listened, came stealing down the stairs : ' ll'lo, Central! Givo me Heaven, to say my prayers."
