MANAWATU MOUNTED RIFLES The appointment of officers of Imperial and New Zealand regiments to short service commissions in the New Zealand Staff Corps is announced in the Gazette. The officers are: — Major C, C. Muscroft-Taylor (Reserve of Officers, Royal Regiment of Artillery.) Captains R. H. Bell (Ist Battalion, Canterbury Regiment), C. S. J. Berkeley (late Ghurka Rifles), G. E. Forster (late of Welsh Regiment), E. E. Lloyd (Ist Battalion, Canterbury Eegiment),i C. A. N. Pilcher (Ist Artillery Brigade Group), L. R. Neilson (Queen Alexandra’sl, Wellington West Coast Mounted Rifles), J. M. Reidy (Ist Cadet Battallion, the Hawke’s Bay Regiment), H. N. Early (Reserve of Officers, the Royal Sussex Regiment), W. J. Smeeton (late Royal Field Artillery.) Lieutenants W. H. Behague (Northern District Signal Company, New, Zealand Corps of Signals), J. K. Collins (Ist Battalion, Canterbury Regiment), A. M. Jordan (Auckland, East Coast, Mounted Rifles), A. R. McKinlay (Otago Mounted Rifles), A. W. Brown, M. C., D.C.M. (retired list), P. C. Holway (late Royal Field Artillery). Other appointments include:—

Staff and Commands: LieutenantColonel F. W. Kemp, M.C., E.D., M.D., M.R.C.S., Eng., L.R.C.P., Lond., Reserve of Officers, N.Z. Medical Corps, is transferred to the active list and is appointed principal medical officer, Trenthara Camp. Manawatu Mounted Rifles: Geoffrey Sylvester Peren (late lieutenant, Royal Field Artillery), to be lieutenant, with seniority from August, 1935, and is granted the temporary rank of captain. 2nd. Lieutenant A. W. Hudson (retired list) to be lieutenant. 2nd. Lieutenant S. I. A. Clifford (retired list) to be lieutenant. Geofffrey Shore Wilson to be 2nd lieutenant (on probation.) N.Z. Medical Corps: Captain D. M. Mitchell, M. 8., Ch. 8., is posted to the 2nd Field Ambulance (Palmerston North.)
