In the meantime all the salvage gear is being brought ashore from the steamer in lorries at low tide. The piles of the unloading ramp have been sold and will be drawn from the sand this week. The Port Bowen became stranded off Castlecliff at midnight on July 'l9th, when inward bound to "Wanganui roadstead from Picton.
