HUMAN JAWBONE UNEARTHED.

WORKMEN'S DISCOVERY (try "Telegraph—Press Association). AUCKLAND, Last Night. A human jawbone and several smaller bones were uncovered by workmen engaged on levelling sections behind some State 'houses at Avondale on Tuesday, but subsequent examination by a pathologist suggested that they had been buried for many years. With the discovery of the jawbone the search for other bones began but beyond a few small bones, the largest not more than six inches long and all discoloured, the searchers were unrewarded. The police were advised and the bones placed in a small cardboard box which was brought to Auckland for examination.
