Shakespeare, Parliamentary Secretary to the Admiralty, when replying to further questions concerning tne troubles on the H.M.S. Endeavour, said that 32 of the ship's complement of 134 -were punished by warrant. It is anticipated, he said, that the present ship's company will leave for New Zealand in September. The circumstances justified a most urgent inquiry and' the Commodore had been asked to investigate the allegations of harsh -conditions in the service.
