AWARDED TO WANGANUI (By Telegraph-Press Association."* WELLINGTON, Last Night. A decision to allot the Brown Challenge Shield to Wanganui was reached by the council of the New Zealand Football Association (Soccer) at its meeting to-day. Reporting on a request from South Auckland that they be declared the holders of the trophy and that other minor associations be asked to challenge them for it, the competitions committee of the council said it would be in the best interests of the competition and the game if the shield were awarded to Wanganui. The committee's recommendation to this effect was agreed to and also that the first match should be ...gainst South Auckland.
