EMPRESS OF AUSTRALIA MEETS MIXED WEATHER.
KING ATTENDS TO STATE BUSINESS (British Official Wireless.) Received Tuesday, 6.20 p.m. RUGBY, May 8. The Empress of Australia has been encountering mixed weather with considerable periods of fog necessitating a slackening in speed. Reports from the ship state that his Majesty spent some time this morning going through State papers and official messages despatched to the ship by radio. RISKS OF CANCELLATION OF TOUR A premium of £2l per £IOO was being charged by insurance companies to hotel and shop keepers in Canada and the United States against the risk of cancellation of the visit of the King and Queen of England to Canada and the United States. This rate, according to the London Daily Express, would cover the parties interested against loss, if any, resulting from the cancellation of the royal tour. QUEEN MARY AND. LITTLE PRINCESSES TRIP ON THAMES. (British Official Wireless.) Received Tuesday, 6.20 p.m. RUGBY, May 8. Queen Mary accompanied Princess Elizabeth and Princess Margaret .Rose when the Princesses were shown the Port of London. The Royal party cruised ten miles from the Tower Pier to Woolwich and passed through the George V Dock, as well as visiting the offices of the Port of London_ Authority.
