AN OUTSTANDING SUCCESS.

HIGHLAND DANCE. The Horowhenua Scottish Society added further to its enviable reputation for organising social functions as a result of its highland dance last 'evening. All the accommodation in the Regent Hall was taken, visitors being present from Otaki, Foxton, Shannon and Palmerston North. A programme of modern and old time dance numbers passed a very pleasurable evening. Added interest was given the function by the attendance of the Manawatu Pipe Band, which was given a rousing reception. Scottish ballets by Palmerston North artists made a pleasing diversion. With’ such a large number present the task of catering was no small one, and this respect, and for the general organisation, credit is due to the committee. A competition for a cushion was won by E. Gordon.
